GoChinese is an award-winning, web-based language learning platform that supports Mandarin Chinese learning by English-based and native Chinese learners.  GoChinese delivers enriched learning materials and online assessment – auto-generating spoken voice, definition and phonetic support to any text displayed on the platform.

The challenge with Chinese is that it is a non-phonetic language that does not explicitly indicate where a word begins and ends in written form.  As an extension of this, looking up words in the dictionary can be cumbersome.  By double clicking, highlighting or pointing the cursor on any words, users can immediately hear the spoken language as well as view definitions and phonetics, among its many features.  GoChinese generates spoken voice at the quality of news broadcasters and is able to auto-extract words and display definitions from our comprehensive, 250,000-word Chinese-English dictionary. 

GoChinese is entirely engine-driven, supported by voice modules, dictionary databases and linguistic engines.  As a result, all types of learning content can be delivered, including popular textbooks and course materials; learning materials created by learning institutions and individual instructors (for which voice and definitions are auto-generated); and any text that users themselves submit into the platform.  GoChinese can easily integrate into any teaching curriculum while enabling learners the flexibility to learn from any self-sourced content.
